Donations
SEP is charitably funded and relies solely on donations. This funding is used to cover the running costs of camp, to pay for equipment and also to provide the scholarship fund for those campers unable to meet the full application fees.
There are many different pieces of equipment that need replacing for SEP. If you have some way of targeting specific items for financing, please let the SEP management know on admin@sepuk.org.

One of the ideas for raising funds for some or all of these objects is to approach manufacturers and companies to see if they would provide sponsorship either in money or in kind. Suitable advertising for the companies involved would be allowed on products and the web site.
Following are some other ideas for fundraising for SEP.
Two of the women in the Glasgow congregation decided to try and raise enough money to replace the very antiquated dryers that were currently in use at SEP. Together with the other members of the Glasgow church they recently sent in a cheque for £2400 for this from several fund-raising activities. Two separate bag-packing days were arranged with one of the Sainsbury stores which raised an amazing £1300. The rest of the funds came from raffle prizes and a third was through football cards.
The bag-packing is something that any congregation can do fairly easily. Some of the large supermarkets will allow charities to offer bag-packing services on a given day and time. Then it is just a matter of enough volunteers giving a few hours of their time to offer to pack customers’ groceries in the hope of a small donation of change. Boxes or buckets with the SEP registered charity number sit at the end of the check-out counters. It’s also a great opportunity to tell people about SEP. There will be a new flyer available soon which can be distributed at such fundraising events.
The raffle prizes came from the two women approaching lots of different store managers and asking for a donation for SEP in the form of prizes. Enough prizes were gathered to make up a large hamper of goodies as well as a number of smaller prizes. Raffle tickets were then sold to as many people as possible. The football card has 25-50 numbers on it and people pay a pound to choose one of the numbers. Once all the numbers are ‘sold’, the hidden number at the top is revealed and the winner takes half the proceeds and the charity takes the other half. This is quite successful in work environments where there are a number of people.
